Lauren grew up in Darien, Connecticut, and she says she has fallen in love with Baltimore during her time at Loyola. “Baltimore is the perfect college town. It has all the benefits of a big city with a small-town feel. As a history major, she is an avid museum visitor, and she takes advantage of the fact that campus is in walking distance of the Baltimore Museum of Art. A self-proclaimed foodie, Lauren visits farmer’s markets, food trucks, and gourmet restaurants all around the city while searching for the best crab cakes in Baltimore’s 250 unique neighborhoods. With all the internship and job opportunities available in the city, she has gained field experience working in Baltimore City schools during her first two years to support her minor in special education. On campus, she is involved with the club softball team, history club, and she works as a tutor at the Writing Center. More than anything, Lauren cherishes Loyola’s emphasis on student involvement and engagement in the Baltimore community.
