- Interdiscplinary MajorBiology and Psychology
Madeline from Bordentown, N.J., is an interdisciplinary major in biology and psychology. Her favorite aspect of both programs is the dedication of the faculty. “Professors from each department will go out of their way to ensure that their students are understanding the material. They truly want to see you succeed, not only as a student, but in all aspects of life.” She points to Amy Wolfson, Ph.D., professor of psychology, as one of the mentors that helped her develop professional and interpersonal skills that will prepare her for future careers. “Dr. Wolfson introduced me to multiple research studies and helped me receive the Inaugural Social Science Summer Research Fellowship. She has acted as an incredible mentor from the moment I had her as my Messina advisor.” Madeline is helping conduct a research study with Dr. Wolfson on sleep health among foster care children, and this experience “revealed my passion for research, which has impacted my career aspirations for the future.” Outside of the classroom, she is a member of the Club Ultimate Frisbee team and a BioNavigators Ambassador. Madeline is involved with two honors societies: Tri-Beta, the National Biological Honor Society, and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.
