Ryan knew he wanted to major in political science since his sophomore year of high school. “The liberal arts education that Loyola provides has helped me to broaden my knowledge base into areas that I may not have otherwise been exposed to,” he says. The close connections he formed with his professors helped him gain experience in his field. He interned for Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) in the fall of 2020, and he credits the support he received from Doug Harris, Ph.D., professor of political science, as key to his success in identifying and securing this opportunity for field experience. “Not only has Dr. Harris helped me along the way with my internship, but he and I have regular conversations during office hours that have expanded my knowledge about politics,” says Ryan, who is originally from New York and also in Loyola’s Pre-Law program. Ryan mentions the multitude of opportunities to get involved on campus. Beyond his classes, he is the co-chair on Loyola’s Honor Council, an Evergreen, and a lector during Sunday Masses in Alumni Memorial Chapel. He notes, “I know that my involvement in different organizations is one of the main reasons I so quickly felt a strong connection to the Loyola community.”

Loyola felt like home to me almost instantaneously. 澳门6合开彩开奖结果 is a community in every sense of the word, and I am so grateful to study at a university where I know the faculty and staff truly care about me as a person and where the student body is so invested in each other.
