Accreditation

Loyola's programs in elementary and secondary education is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. Graduates automatically meet academic requirements for certification in Maryland and in other states with reciprocity agreements.

Pathways for Teacher Certification

Education majors are often placed in a school setting every semester throughout the program of study. The field experience is designed for teacher candidates to become acquainted with schools and connect course theory to class practices they observe. Candidates are encouraged to work with individuals and small groups as appropriate. Internships are supervised with local schools with the School of Education Professional Development Schools.
